“We want to play our brand of cricket,” claims Bangladesh T20I skipper Nurul Hasan
Nurul, the wicket-keeper batsman who was given the captaincy by BCB for the Zimbabwe tour, suggested that Bangladesh should concentrate on developing their own style of cricket rather than trying to emulate the success mantra of other teams.
“We want to play our brand of cricket. Many teams are good at power hitting but if we can play smart and remain sensible and score boundaries instead of sixes there is a chance,'” Nurul told reporters ahead of the opening game in Harare. ”We are not concerned about what other teams are doing as we want to create our own brand of cricket.”
Despite the absence of their senior cricketers, Nurul said, they don’t feel inexperienced because some of their players have already played six to seven years of international cricket.
“You cannot say we are inexperienced as most of the cricketers are playing for six to seven years and so I think we are quite experienced,” said Nurul.
“We are well aware that we will be challenged but we are looking forward to it. You can say that this is a young team but we have not come here to learn, we want to win. The conditions are different but we cannot give that excuse.”
