Afghanistan’s Shpageeza Cricket League witnessed bomb explosion at the stadium

At the Kabul International Stadium on Friday, a bomb blast shook Afghanistan’s Shpageeza Cricket League (July 29).

No casualties were discovered following the event, which occurred during the 22nd league game of the competition between Pamir Zalmi and the Band-e-Amir Dragons.

The game was resumed after four injured spectators were transported to the hospital and given the all-clear by law enforcement. According to a representative of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Kabul police took control of the situation after they arrived and after about an hour gave them permission to continue the game that was being played using the DLS system.

”I played in the game today and everything was fine afterwards so there is no need to worry,” said Afghanistan all-rounder Karim Janat (to cricbuzz).

”It’s a good tournament to prepare, later there is a series against Ireland and afterwards we will be playing the Asia Cup and World Cup, so let’s see.”
