PM Modi assures relentless efforts on the ground to aid Cyclone Michaung victims
Michaung, a severe cyclonic storm, struck the south Andhra Pradesh coast between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm on Tuesday, with its most intense impact felt on Monday in Chennai and neighboring areas of Tamil Nadu. Southern districts of Odisha and eastern Telangana remain on high alert.
In a statement on social media platform X, Modi expressed condolences, saying, “My thoughts are with the families of those who have lost their loved ones due to Cyclone Michaung, especially in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry. My prayers are with those injured or affected in the wake of this cyclone.”
Modi stated, “Authorities have been tirelessly working on the ground to assist those affected, and their efforts will persist until the situation fully normalizes.” Unfortunately, at least 12 individuals lost their lives in rain-related incidents in and around Chennai.
