A Chartered Financial Analyst charter is a title awarded to persons who have successfully completed the CFA Program and met the necessary requirements for acceptable work experience.
The CFA Program exam consists of three parts and evaluates candidates’ knowledge of investment basics, asset valuation, portfolio management, and wealth planning. People with backgrounds in finance, accounting, economics, or business often complete the CFA Program. After completing the programme, submitting an application, and being approved by CFA Institute, CFA charterholders are granted the authority to use the CFA designation. CFA charterholders are qualified to occupy senior and executive roles in a variety of industries, including asset management, risk management, and investment management.
More than two million candidates have taken the Level I exam between 1963 and the first half of 2022, with 291,500 of those candidates finally passing the Level III exam, representing a weighted average completion rate of about 11%. The completion rate dropped somewhat over the previous ten years to 9.6 percent.
