Vidyut Jammwal’s ‘Commando’ movie franchise takes a turn into web series
Disney+ Hotstar will bless ‘Commando’ fans after releasing the super-hit movie’s new web series. For the streaming service Disney + Hotstar, director Vipul Amrutlal Shah plans to turn his popular action film franchise Commando, into a television series. In the future OTT series, the creators intend to cast a new actor to play the part.
The series will tell the action saga in a brand-new way, supported by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, a talented filmmaker and franchise owner of Commando movie.
The new programme will provide viewers a closer look into Para SF Captain Karan Singh Dogra’s life and missions by detailing his escapades (previously portrayed by well-known actor Vidyut Jammwal).
Vidyut Jammwal played the lead character in all the three films in the franchise — Commando: A One Man Army (2013), Commando 2: The Black Money Trail (2017) and Commando 3 (2019).
“It’s an absolute pleasure and joy to extend an action franchise like Commando into the OTT world. The franchise has been very special because we launched the supremely talented Vidyut Jammwal and it went on to become one of the most successful action franchises. It will be very exciting as this is going to be another experiment with the same franchise that has never happened in India,” Shah said in a statement.
