Mahmudullah, the T20I series’ captain, will miss Bangladesh Cricket Board’s forthcoming tour of Zimbabwe. In his absence, Nurul Hasan will captain the T20I team.
After the veteran batter’s protracted dry spell as a player and captain, BCB boss Nazmul Hasan recently stated that the board would meet with Mahmudullah to discuss his immediate future. In fact, team director Khaled Mahmud revealed in an interview with Cricbuzz that the administration wasn’t too pleased with Mahmudullah’s captaincy.
”We have decided that Nurul Hasan will lead the side in the upcoming T20Is,” Khaled told reporters after the meeting. ‘It is not that Sohan will lead the team in the World Cup. ‘We felt the T20 squad should make a new start as they are not performing well and we want the new guys to express them,” he said.
