Team India: Deepak Chahar and Washington Sundar return for the Blue side
Deepak Chahar, the pacer, and Washington Sundar, all-rounder, have been selected for India’s ODI team for the forthcoming three-match series in Zimbabwe.
SQUAD: Shikhar Dhawan (C), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar.
Washington and Deepak both last participated in an ODI for India during the earlier-in-the-year home series against the West Indies. In February 2022, Chahar was injured while on his most recent foreign assignment and has since been receiving treatment at the NCA in Bengaluru. After failing to recover in time, he was forced to miss the IPL 2022 for Chennai Super Kings. On the other side, Sundar missed the home series against South Africa, the Ireland, and the England tours due to a bowling hand injury he sustained during the IPL 2022. However, after joining Lancashire for the County season, he returned to competitive cricket.
