Shabana Azmi and Shah played a husband and wife raising a lovely family with two daughters in the film MASOOM. Shekhar Kapoor made his directing debut with the film, which was based on the Erich Segal novel Man, Woman, and Child. For the role, Shah received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
