Mumbai Police books an offence after accused threatens a fruit seller by sending pictures of firearms through Whatsapp

Mumbai Police booked a recent case of a person held accused for threatening a local fruit seller.

The offender initially gave a threatening phone call to the victim and asked him to pay money as a method of extortion but the fruit seller (victim) did not bother to get tensed by a phone call until the accused sent a picture of ‘firearm’ through Whatsapp.

After registering FIR with the local police of Vakola police station, Mumbai crime branch has started investigating in the matter and the latest lead was that the number used to call the victim was probably secured by VPN number as the location traced to Unites States of America, somewhere in North Carolina.
