IND vs WI 1st T20: Will Rishabh Pant open with Rohit Sharma?
Without any senior leaders, the ODI series was easily won, but now they’ve returned to take control for the shortest format competition. It will be intriguing to see how the T20 opening game plays out with Rohit Sharma returning to duty and all the players prepared to maintain the “milestone” that Dhawan’s young team established.
KL Rahul will be replaced by Sanju Samson in India’s T20I team for their current tour of the West Indies as the BCCI announced on Friday (July 29). KL Rahul, who recently acquired COVID-19, was instructed to rest by the medical staff, according to a board release.
Earlier in the T20 series against England, Rishabh Pant was suggested to open the innings with skipper Rohit Sharma but could not do much impact at the apex batting level, but as stated by skipper Rohit that the opportunity given by BCCI to experiment and play free can lead to some surprising decision makings in this T20 series. Pant only managed to score 27 runs in the two games he played in during his two initial appearances.
