Partha Chatterjee, the minister for West Bengal who has been arrested, was dismissed from his position on Thursday due to allegations of corruption. Wednesday witnessed three raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in and around Kolkata. This time, substantial amounts of cash were found at an apartment connected to Arpita Mukherjee, who is thought to be a close associate of the detained West Bengal Industry Minister.

“I have removed Partha Chatterjee as a minister. My party takes strict action. There are many plannings behind it but I don’t want to go into details,” said West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee
