Facebook-owned messaging behemoth WhatsApp stated that WhatsApp Business users have found tremendous value in the platform in order to stay connected with their customers amid the Coronavirus-triggered lockdown in India and it is now getting over 15 million monthly users.

Worldwide, the messaging platform said it has more than 50 million people using WhatsApp Business each month. “The lockdown has been extremely difficult on small businesses, with several being forced to pivot and restructure their operations to ensure business continuity as well as find new ways to engage and interact with their customers,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said.

WhatsApp has also rolled out the much-awaited animated sticker packs like Rico’s Sweet Life, Bright Days, Chummy Chum Chums to its users.

Moreover, the company said its new QR codes feature will make it significantly easier to initiate a chat with business as customers will be able to scan a QR code on the business’ product packaging or receipt and start chatting with a representative.

As per the latest inputs, the company is also making catalogs and individual items available to be shared as links on social networking sites.

The Facebook-owned messaging platform said more than 40 million users globally and over three million in India view a business catalogue on WhatsApp each month. The company said it will also be launching new ‘Open for Business’ sticker packs that say ‘out of stock’, ‘closing soon’, ’sorry, closed’, ‘free delivery’, ‘back in stock’, among others to make it easier for companies to be able to communicate with potential customers.
