Vodafone-Idea to create a synergy, with more SME’s and Start-ups

chief executive officer and managing director of a British Telecom Service Provider, Sunil Sood, has announced the merging up of Vodafone with Idea Cellular. Under his guidance, Vodafone is intensifying efforts to get a permanent status in digital space. The firm expects growth in enterprise and retail segment as well.
Last week, the company advented a brand position campaign and further launched it globally. Vodafone is expected to team up SME’s (Small and Medium Enterprises), startups and state/local governments to improve its telecom services and customer offers in the coming days.
Sunil Sood said that partnering with SME’s will foster new ideas. He further added, “We are in the cusp of a transformation. We are in the direction of making an agile, future-fit and digital telecom company.”
Currently, 80% of revenue is owned by retail segment, while enterprise shares just 20%. Still, Sood expects that the enterprise share in the revenue would sharply increase after implementing the new plans. He highlighted the fact that tech. like AI, Big Data, Analytics and Machine Learning will all depend on the connectivity provided by the telecom.
Coming to the merging up of Idea cellular and Vodafone, the companies still need some special permissions from the National Company Law Tribunal which speculatively would come in the first-week of December. The companies have already been approved by the Competition Commission of India, the Securities and Exchange Board of India and stock exchanges.
This big telecom synergy, as mentioned by Sunil Sood, will provide a $2 billion savings for Vodafone. They are still working with the apt. organization design after the completion of merging process.
The merging would be done up ahead of time in 2018. The synergy will create India’s largest the world’s 2nd largest telecom firm. The new company would acquire 400 million customers and 41% of the shares in the revenue market.
