BJP demands apology from Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury for calling President Murmu ‘Rashtrapatni’
Social media users were able to hear Chowdhury referring to Murmu as “Rashtrapatni” in a video clip. He added that the Opposition MPs would attempt to march to Rashtrapati Bhawan once more on Thursday, saying that “India’s Rashtrapatni” was for everyone.
While protesting the “misuse” of organisations like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the suspension of opposition MPs from both Houses of Parliament, the opposition was apprehended on Wednesday and placed in police vehicles.
“It was a deliberate sexist insult. Sonia Gandhi should apologise to the President of India and the country,” says Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
BJP demanded apology from Adhir Chowdhury and more significantly the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was witnessed protesting against Congress MP for his ‘sexist’ comments.
