In Select Towns in India, the BSNL 4G VoLTE Services are Available

In the coming year, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will launch its pan-India 4G network. In some towns and cities of India, however, the state-run telco offers 4G VoLTE services to customers. For the clueless, last year in Coimbatore, BSNL unveiled its VoLTE services for its 4G Network. The company officials demonstrated the service live. The VoLTE service was subsequently extended from Coimbatore to more cities/circles.

For the south zone of Coimbatore, BSNL 4G VoLTE services are offered. The protocol was then extended to include Chennai, Tamil Nadi, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, as also other cities/circles.

The VoLTE service provides customers in the area with better voice calling experience. In addition, both video and voice calls can also be made by data. Further to the VoLTE list, BSNL adds new cities/circles.

A request to enable the VoLTE service on your devices shall be made by BSNL users with the 4G SIM card. First and foremost, the consumer has to guarantee that a 4G VoLTE smartphone is used. The text “ACT VOLTE” must then be sent to 53733 via the SMS app. When a request is sent, the firm will in a short period of time enable the VoLTE service for the customer. If existing BSNL customers are using a 2G or 3G SIM Card of the business, they would not be able to leverage VoLTE on their smartphones. Users should visit BSNL’s next shopping shop to acquire a new 4G SIM card that costs just Rs 20.

In India, the state-run telco will not take the conventional 4G path. BSNL announced a hybrid 4G network for India wherein 50,000 Indian sites and remaining 57,000 sites would be reserved for the world’s suppliers. The telco states that 57,000 places reserved for international firms may also be tendered by Indian sellers when they are able to produce proof of concept (PoC) on time.

The telco will launch 4G in 14 months at the earliest. If the company or government has delayed, it will take longer for the telco to deploy 4G. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has requested approval from BSNL for the roll-out of hybrid 4G in India. The telecom department was informed that its ‘survival’ depends on the rapid implementation of 4G in the region.
