Google Assistant Will Soon Have The Key Usability Enhancement

Google has been known to deliver several fantastic tools in recent years, from Android as an operating system to Google Search, which is one of the greatest search engines available. Another important tool that Google has recently supplied is the Google Assistant, which is one of the most well-known AI helpers in recent times.

This is quite an achievement given that Apple beat the tech giant to the first AI assistant with the debut of Siri. Despite the delay, it is widely acknowledged that Google’s product is light years ahead of Apple’s in terms of important features like simplicity of use, accessibility, and voice control.

It has been disclosed that Google will make a significant adjustment to the assistant that will make using it even easier, particularly for those who do not want to speak the phrase “Hey Google.”

The new Feature Explained.

This new feature, described as quick phrases, will allow users to engage with the Google Assistant without saying the “Hey Google” catchphrase.

According to the aforementioned article, the function would be available for the most typical voice interactions, such as cancelling a ringing alarm or an ongoing timer. The function is now accessible under the codename “guacamole,” and it was first seen in April 2021, when the “voice shortcuts” page appeared in Google Assistant’s settings for some users.

Along with this, the next Google App will include strings relating to the May announcement of the dynamic shortcuts feature. Once it is available, the assistant will begin proposing shortcuts depending on the user’s app use and the current context.

This functionality was introduced with Android Nougat to allow developers to implement context-specific actions within their apps. The new Chips for ideas, like the existing action recommendations, will display at the bottom of the Assistant UI.

Both of these functions will be available on top Android devices in the near future, along with the option to turn off your phone via the assistant.
