BJP demands apology from Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury for calling President Murmu ‘Rashtrapatni’

Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury’s words have created a rukus among the different parties as he called the newly elected President of India ‘Rashtrapatni’

Social media users were able to hear Chowdhury referring to Murmu as “Rashtrapatni” in a video clip. He added that the Opposition MPs would attempt to march to Rashtrapati Bhawan once more on Thursday, saying that “India’s Rashtrapatni” was for everyone.

While protesting the “misuse” of organisations like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the suspension of opposition MPs from both Houses of Parliament, the opposition was apprehended on Wednesday and placed in police vehicles.

Ministers of BJP including Smriti Irani and Nirmala Sitharaman have protested against the ‘sexist’ comment of Adhir Chowdhury.

‘Maafi Mango’ is the slogan of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other party members.
