SBI chooses Microsoft Office 365 for cloud powered productivity

With the aim of transforming itself to a modern workplace, The State Bank of India chose cloud powered Microsoft Office 365 to improve internal communication among its workmen.
SBI has been the largest public-sector bank of India and it has announced execution of Office 365 at its 23,423 branches, enabling 263,000 employees and managing 500 million customer accounts under it.
The step is believed to provide a modern digital workplace platform experience to its employees. Hence, the workers would now be able to reduce complexity and collaborate effectively from any device. Data security and sovereignty have also been carefully addressed by the bank management board.

As India’s economy continues to grow, the BFSI sector needs to be well-equipped to address dynamic market pressures and rapidly evolving industry needs. As the Digital Banker to the Nation, Microsoft’s cutting edge technology is helping us lead this digital transformation by making it part of our DNA,” said chairman State Bank of India, Rajnish Kumar.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressed excite and enthusiasm on joining up with State Bank of India for its digital transformation. SBI would receive benefits from the digitalization in three phases. Firstly, making itself more effective and agile by upgrading to Microsoft Office 365. Secondly, by focusing on user adoption by identifying use cases based on work profiles, and transforming and simplifying process alignment with new tools, thus enhancing internal and customer experience.
Indian government has always been appreciating such digitalization programs throughout the nation.
