Reliance Jio Will Make 5G Accessible in India

Conformity Jio was very vocal about how he would like India to be a digital revolution leader. In order to make India dependent upon next-generation connectivity requirements, the telecommunications operator has developed its indigenous 5G solutions. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), the Jio Platforms parent company, announced that the Jio project is accelerating the implementation of the indigenous 5G stack of next-generation, according to the PTI report. The report also highlights Jio’s view that India should keep the ‘global digital revolution’ ahead of other nations.

Jio, with the help of indigenous technology and the scale at which it can deploy solutions, has the potential to make 5G very affordable for India.

Jio and Qualcomm Have Passed the 1 Gbps Speed Test

Dependence Jio previously collaborated with Qualcomm to test its 5G solutions, allowing the company to achieve 1 Gbps speeds. Along with Jio and Qualcomm, Radisys Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), has developed a next-generation 5G solution with a virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN). This assists the telecom operator in hastening the rollout of 5G in India.

According to the RIL’s annual report, Jio is working to accelerate the rollout of indigenously developed 5G stack and digital platforms. The company’s goal is to make technology affordable and accessible to everyone.

With the recent spectrum purchase, the telco can add up to 300 million new users to its network, in addition to the 426 million existing users. According to the company’s report, Reliance Jio is ready to touch up to a billion lives in India through its digital offerings.

While many companies suffered losses in the previous fiscal year as a result of lockdowns and other restrictions imposed by the pandemic, Reliance Jio was able to raise up to Rs 1,52,056 crore from global institutional investors, including Google and Facebook.

The telecom operator worked with Samsung to conduct 5G testing, using its own products to test how they work with real-life scenarios. They are also developing their own products. Indian access to a live and commercial 5G network is still a long way from here. When you look at the groove at the moment, it will take India to get 5G at least by 2022.
