Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G with World’s First Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Launched in China: Price and Specifications

After many weeks of confirming the launch, Xiaomi has finally revealed the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone. Almost every specification had been teased out by the Chinese OEM prior to its debut. It is the world’s first smartphone to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Chipset. The smartphone is expected to be released in various markets around the world under different branding. On April 6, 2023, it is expected to be released in India as the Poco F5 5G. However, Poco has not yet formally announced a release date for the upcoming Poco F5 5G smartphone. Pricing and Availability for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G

Xiaomi has set the base version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at RMB 1,999 (approx. Rs 23,880). The 12GB + 256GB version costs RMB 2,099 (approx. Rs 25,100) and the 12GB + 512GB variant costs RMB 2,299 (approx. Rs 27,450). While the higher-end version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs RMB 2,599, (approx. Rs 31,100). The smartphone comes in three colours: icy feather white, star sea blue, and carbon fibre black.

Specifications for the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G

The smartphone is outfitted with a 6.67-inch 12-bit Flexible OLED screen from Xiaomi. The monitor has 68.7 billion colors, a 100% DCI-P3 broad colour gamut, a refresh rate of 120Hz, PWM dimming at 1920Hz, and HDR10+ certification. The smartphone also receives TUV SUD 48-Month Fluency Rating A Mark approval. The device has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.45%, a top thickness of 1.95mm, a chin thickness of 2.22mm, and sides thicknesses of 1.42mm.

Xiaomi claims that the display bezels are thinner than those on the iPhone 14. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset is used in conjunction with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The 3725mm vapour champer cooling improves heat dissipation by 35%. It ships with MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13. The smartphone weighs around 181 g and has a 7.9mm overall thickness.

The smartphone has a triple-rear camera setup in terms of optics. The primary sensor is a 64MP sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture. In-sensor zoom, Xiaomi’s Image Brain 2.0, and a film camera are also supported by the primary camera. The primary camera is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. The 16MP selfie camera is housed in the display’s centre punch-hole.

The phone is powered by a large 5000mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging technology. On the connectivity front, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, an X-axis linear motor, an IR blaster, a stereo speaker setup, and a USB type-C port. The fingerprint scanner has been integrated into the power button by Xiaomi. Xiaomi has released a smartphone that supports Dolby Vision, Hi-Res audio, and spatial audio.
