In a bid to attract fresh subscribers and lower the cost of maintaining two brands, Vodafone Idea has announced its new unified brand identity by renaming all its products under a new name and logo “Vi”.

Take a look:

“With Vi, we are confident of building a brand that continues to command respect and trust, and will be admired and loved by all,” MD and CEO Ravinder Takkar said.

The beleaguered telecom company on Friday had announced that it will raise up to Rs 25,000 crore via a mix of instruments. Vodafone Idea will take up the proposal at its AGM (annual general meeting) on September 30.

The upcoming fundraising will offer a lifeline to cash-strapped telecom operation.

Vodafone Idea’s move comes after the apex court last week allowed the telecom companies to stagger their payments of the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues over the next 10 years.

India’s third-largest telecom operator Vodafone Idea, which faces a payment of more than Rs 58,000 crore, has only paid Rs 7,850 crore AGR dues till date.

It should be mentioned here that the Vodafone Idea has witnessed its user base fall significantly, dropping to about 280 million users at the end of June this year.
