In a bid to attract customers from its rivals in this most profitable post-paid segment for telecom operators, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd introduced several new postpaid plans for mobile users in the intensely-competitive Indian telecom market.
The new plans called JioPostpaid will be bundled with subscriptions such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney + Hotstar.
Jio also launched offers for postpaid mobile users of other telecom service providers to carry over their credit limit to the Jio network provided they port to Jio connections.
The latest move by the Mumbai-based telco comes at a time when telecom operators are struggling to find methods to increase tariffs.
It must be mentioned here that Jio’s existing base of postpaid subscribers is just around 1% of its total user base.
There can’t be a more opportune time to introduce JioPostpaid Plus, said Akash Ambani, adding the company wants to extend its customer obsession to the postpaid category.
The new postpaid plans will be available from Thursday, and they will start from ₹399 per month.
Meanwhile, the telecom giant is also expected to launch affordable smartphones soon to complement its new postpaid plans.
