No price hike for Apple iPhones

In what could be a big relief for many of Apple’s fans in India, the company has declined any plans to increase the prices of its iPhone models in India.
A recent Times of India report says that the company has withdrawn some of the discounts offered in Jan-March this year. The move would have been especially surprising, considering the fact that Apple’s new device SE received a dismal response in the local market.
It was reported that post price hike, the iPhone 6 would cost Rs 40,000 and iPhone 6S would be priced at Rs 48,000. In addition, the iPhone 5S was reportedly made costlier by 22 percent which would bring the price to nearly Rs 22,000 against Rs 18,000 at present.
The company though has denied such plans and says that the original prices will be retained.
