‘Made-in-India’ Browser: Reliance Jio launches JioPages to boost its digital presence

In a move to boost its digital presence, Reliance Jio has announced the launch of its browser called the JioPages, keeping data privacy at its core. Built on the powerful Chromium Blink engine, the new product aims to keep subscribers logged in with personalised home screen, content, and theme and offerings.

The browser supports multiple languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

“JioPages provides enhanced browsing experience through faster engine migration, best-in-class webpage rendering, faster page loads, efficient media streaming, Emoji domain support and encrypted connection,” the company stated.

With over 400 million subscribers, Jio stated its browser has been keeping in mind web security.

According to the company, the browser is currently available for Android smartphones and can be downloaded via Google Play Store.

Under the personalised home screen, users have the choice of setting any of the search engines like Google, Yahoo as their default search engine. They could even pin the links of their favourite sites on the home screen for easy access.

Reportedly, the browser also blocks unsolicited ads and popups to provide the user with a seamless browsing experience.
