According to a journal article provided by a Karnataka education policy council, eating meat and eggs during midday meals may cause “lifestyle problems” in students. (As recently reported by The Telegraph India).
The position paper is a component of the procedure by which states are expected to provide the Center with recommendations for the new National Education Policy. Before putting the papers into practise as part of the policy, the Union government and the National Council of Educational Research and Training will assess them.
The article also advocated eating “satwik food,” a word frequently used to describe a vegetarian diet, for the improvement of one’s mental and emotional health.
The paper has been chaired by K John Vijay Sagar, the head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (The Times of India reported).
