India once again played notably well and have performed as a better side in the 3 match ODI clash against the Windies. Already clinching the hands on the cup, India went on to finish off the series by a whitwash win, giving team India a historical victory and that too under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan. More significantly it was Rahul Dravid who was once again a part of a major win and a historic one too.
“I feel the boys are young, but they played maturely. The way they handled themselves on the field, really proud of them. Very good signs for us. I am quite pleased with my form, I have been playing this format since a long time. I was happy with the way I played that knock, in the first ODI. And even today, happy with my peformance. The way he scored those 98 runs, it was amazing to watch. The way all the boys responded, it was pretty amazing. We feel lucky to come here, we are thankful to the crowd. They make us more popular. I am proud of our bowling unit, they gave their hundred percent. The way Siraj took those two wickets, and the way Shardul and others bowled,” said skipper Dhawan.
Shikhar Dhawan has played incredibly well throughout the series as he jumps to a historic win as a skipper and also gave in his best. Starting from the first ODI, the man came back into the blues like a roaring Punjabi and was close to aim his ton when he had to walk back on 97 runs. The second ODI was a critical one where Dhawan’s early dismissal hurt the team’s batting lineup. The last ODI witnessed Dhawan’s fantastic fifty along with some promising shots.
