In cooperation with Nvidia, Mavenir introduces the AI-on-5G Edge solution

Mavenir, a cloud-native network software provider, has launched an AI-on-5G Hyper-Converged Edge solution in collaboration with California-based Nvidia, which will enable enterprises and telcos to implement AI-on-5G applications for various verticals such as manufacturing, mining, and healthcare that cover Industry 4.0 applications.

Mavenir has designed the solution on the hardware and software technologies of Nvidia and will allow users to use cases such as remote and immersive cooperation, robotics precise control, the safety of the people, smart plant, and others, according to an official statement.

Nvidia’s general-purpose graphics processing units (GPUs) with Nvidia CUDA and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) data processing units are used in the solution (DPUs).

The 5G is recognized as an architecture factor for the intelligently linked factories, farms, towns, and logistics, where wireless sensors, machines, robots, and persons can work together on the same system with great flexibility.

The latest networking technology provides both for mission-critical applications the speed, latency, and quality of service needed.

Mavenir claims that its Edge AI solution can be used by telcos to offer new Mobile Edge Cloud offerings to both enterprise and consumer customers.

The fully automated, dynamically scalable solution is also available as a managed service for enterprises deploying private networks, according to the statement.

“This unique hyper-convergence between the 5G stack and AI applications enables the key promises of Industry 4.0 and 5G,” said Kuntal Chowdhury, SVP & GM of Mavenir’s AI & Analytics Business Unit.

“Through our collaboration with Mavenir, the power of AI-on-5G will soon become apparent across multiple industries,” said Ronnie Vasishta, NVIDIA’s senior vice president of Telecoms. “The security and low latency of 5G, combined with the computing power of AI, is set to transform entire industries and increase productivity globally.”
