Here’s all you need to know about the ‘Stitch’ feature rolled out by TikTok

Although the fate of TikTok’s operations hangs in balance, it has launched an editing feature called ‘Stitch’ which enables users to clip as well as integrate scenes from another user’s video into their own.

In other words, Stitch provides users with a way to reinterpret and add to another user’s content, building on their stories, tutorials, recipes, math lessons, and more, TikTok said.

Users can also decide in their settings whether or not others can Stitch their content.

To use this new feature:

1. Open the app, and choose a video you’d like to Stitch.

2. Hit the “Send to” button.

3. Then, press the “Stitch” button.

4. Select up to 5 seconds from the video clip. You can also trim the clip to your preferred duration.

5. Record your addition to the Stitched clip.

6. Start Stitching together your videos for extensive storytelling.

Every video made with Stitch attributes the original creator in the new video’s caption, and the caption attribution links directly to the original, clipped video, the company said.

The platform also launched the TikTok For Business Marketing Partner Programme in order to enable marketers to express themselves in a creative manner and connect with the TikTok community.

It is to be noted that TikTok is facing the threat of a ban from the Trump administration in the United States unless it divests its US operations.
