Central Government: Only 7.22 Lakhs People Got Employment in 8 years

In the previous 8 years, recruitment was  recommended more than 7 lakh individuals for positions in various central government departments. Jitendra Singh, the Union’s Minister of State for Personnel, reported that from 2014–15 to 2021–22,  22,05,99,238 individuals applied for positions in the central government, and 7,22,311 lakh of those were suggested by the hiring agencies.

In total, 78,555 individuals were hired and 1,80,01,469 applicants applied in 2020–21, while 38,850 candidates were hired and 1,86,71,121 applications were received during 2021–22.

Mr. Singh claims that the administration has undertaken numerous steps to increase employment prospects. One of the programmes with the potential to provide 60 lakh new jobs is the Production Linked Incentive (PLI).

“Employment generation coupled with improving employability is the priority of the government. Accordingly, the government of India has taken various steps for generating employment in the country. Budget 2021-22 launched Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes with an outlay of Rs. 1.97 lakh crore for a period of 5 years starting from 2021-22,” said Mr. Singh.
